This series is focuses on my feelings of my soul not being specifically human. I’m using the word “soul” as shorthand for the deepest inner part of me. Inside me, I feel a hybridity and reciprocity between my human self and other animals. I’m sure there are other people who feel this way, but I have yet to meet them. It’s hard to describe in words, so I have been using my art to attempt to express this.
Although I have a strong mental image for each piece when I begin, there is much room improvisation and experimentation.
